| About the Adult Riding
Clinics at New Meadow Farm |
Come and join us at
New Meadow Farm and enjoy an extremely educational, fun and
relaxed environment in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
At New Meadow Farm we strive to provide the perfect setting
conducive to learning, advancing both your and your horse’s
skills with classical instruction in a friendly environment.
Have fun, relax and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow horse
lovers while you improve your skills and techniques.
All levels are welcome – we are happy to work with beginner
and novice riders looking to achieve a correct and solid
foundation as well as the more advanced riders and
competitors – we can help you advance your skills.
Likewise, the Clinics are a great learning experience
for the green horse, providing positive “mileage” away from
the familiarity of home but without the pressure of the show
environment, and are a good situation for problem solving
and advancement with the older horses too.
Please
feel free to contact us to discuss your requirements, date
availability or if a group of your barn friends or club
members would like to schedule a private clinic at New
Meadow Farm (minimum of 5 riders required, maximum of 16).

New Meadow Farm Facilities |
 |
|
New Meadow Farm is situated on over 300 acres of well
maintained open and wooded land with trails throughout.
The facility includes an enormous covered arena, an
outdoor sand arena, cross country course, 16 stall barn
with tack rooms and wash racks and a choice of
accommodations to suit every budget, not to mention the
swimming pool to help relax and cool off!
A choice of accommodations are available, either in the
historic main house, circa 1830, which has been
beautifully renovated by local master craftsmen, or in
the bunkhouses. Breakfast and lunch are provided.
And of course there is more to the Shenandoah Valley
than just the gorgeous scenery: historic sites,
restaurants, antiques, theater, movies, wineries,
several hunts and the legendary Virginia Horse Center
are within easy driving distance of the Farm. |

Come for a day of instruction or come for the
entire clinic - it is YOUR choice. The all
inclusive
clinics include lodging in either the main house or bunkhouse, stabling
and bedding for one horse (guests bring
their own hay and grain), two lessons daily, breakfasts, and

or opt to go on a guided trail ride around the
property.)
We will do our best to schedule sessions to
best suit your needs and desires. Our goal is to help
you achieve your goals. Classical dressage, hunters,
jumpers, and eventers can all be accommodated and all

“Skills for Confidence on
the Trails and Beyond” Weekend Clinic - TBA |
|
English and Western riders are encouraged to attend our
weekend clinic “Skills for Confidence on the
Trails and Beyond” with Page Graves , Karen Evans and
Anita Warmington, where we will
start out skill building in the arenas over a variety of
obstacles, bridges, tarps, cover working a gate from
horseback and more, before going out on the trails
around the property.
This clinic is not only beneficial
to those of us who trail ride and foxhunt but to those
of us looking to strengthen the bond of trust,
communication and understanding with our horse, youngsters, new and older horses alike. |

Aude Butler–Bauserman |

 |
I currently live in Luray Virginia and am a full time French and
Biology Teacher as well as a Freelance Dressage Instructor. I
started riding at the age of 6 in England and was heavily
involved in Pony Club. My parents then moved to France where I
continued my riding as a jumper. Little did I know at the time I
would change disciplines.
My parents bought a property that was adjacent to the riding
school L’academie Equestre de Touraine, a dressage school which
was opened by Commandant de Padirac after leaving Saumur. Many
mornings I would go over and look through the trees and watch
the sessions. However, one morning I was spotted and the
Commandant with his calm but serious voice said “come out from
behind the tree before you start growing roots.”
Looking back on it was both the most intimidating moment of my
life and the biggest turning point. I had never seen anything
such as the half-pass, the pirouettes, the levade, the 1 tempi
and then the 2 tempis; but most of all the fact that you could
not see him move while asking for the transitions. He suggested
I come over and ride. I trained under his tutelage for many
years and showed.
My parents, who worked for the government were required to move
again this time to Virginia where I continued my training with
local instructors and clinicians but would return to France
every summer. I became a working student for Linda Konigesberg
and thought her guidance and knowledge helped make adjustments
that helped improved the brilliance, patience and expression in
my horses.

Page Graves |
|
|
|
|
 |
Page Graves has a lifetime of diverse experience with horses.
Page has specialized in gaited horses, Western working cow
horses and producing using horses for trail and general
pleasure. Page rode in bareback bronc and bull riding
competitions in his youth, and learned that bulls and broncs
were not compliant when you asked them to pick up their leads,
back up, side-pass or commanded them to stop!
Page grew up in the Mid-West and began starting young horses for
Chet McArthur at the age of twelve. Page moved to Virginia as a
young man in 1978 and started his training and sales operation
at his home in Raphine, VA at Walnut Creek Farm.
Page enjoys helping people and their horses, no matter what
their breed and discipline, to learn new skills to improve their
safety, knowledge and overall horsemanship, whether it is
working a gate correctly and safely from horseback, improving
their lateral work or turn around, starting a horse on cattle or
helping to build confidence and remove fear from a horse and
rider combination.
Page believes that the horse should become an extension of your
own self and trains towards working as one with your horse as a
team that can overcome challenges and perform useful tasks when
called upon, whether it be catching up loose cattle or crossing
the creek . |
